PHOTIZO SKINCARE FOR WOUNDS
A wound is defined as the interruption of the continuity of bodily tissue. It can be caused by any type of physical, chemical and mechanical trauma or initiated by a health problem.
Diabetic foot ulcer is a global health problem that affects tens of thousands of patients. If these ulcers are left untreated, they may lead to serious complications.

Cutaneous injuries are relatively common in adults and their incidence appears to increase with changes in population life expectancy.
Photizo SkinCare® offers an additional very effective treatment to use with your other wound products. You can use this on a variety of different wounds.
These wounds include both acute and chronic, open and closed affected area.Photizo Skincare can help treat all kinds of wounds in the body tissue.
Acute wounds normally heal in an orderly and efficient manner, and progress smoothly through the four distinct, but overlapping phases of wound healing: hemostasis, inflammation, proliferation and remodelling.
In contrast, chronic wounds will similarly begin the healing process, but will have prolonged inflammatory, proliferative, or remodelling phases, resulting in tissue fibrosis and in non-healing ulcers
Open or Closed - Wounds can be open or closed. Open wounds are the wounds with exposed underlying tissue/ organs and open to the outside environment, for example, penetrating wounds. Typical open wounds would be due to surgery, incisions, puncture wounds, abrasions or lacerations and ulcers.
On the other hand, closed wounds are the wounds that occur without any exposure to the underlying tissue and organs. Closed wounds could typically be due to contusions, blisters or hematoma.
Acute or Chronic - A wound can be classified as acute or chronic depending on the healing time. Acute wounds are those that heal without any complications in a predicted amount of time. While chronic wounds, on the other hand, are those that take a relatively long time to heal with some complications.
Several studies prove the advantages of PhotoBioModulation, light therapy on wound healing. It promotes similar biological effects, such as decreased inflammatory cells, increased fibroblast proliferation, stimulation of angiogenesis, granulation tissue formation and increased collagen synthesis. The irradiation parameters are also similar between LED and LASER.
Biological effects are a function of radiation parameters, mainly wavelength and dose.
Red and near infrared light therapy for the healing of post surgical incisions.
Recovering from invasive surgery, especially in places such as the sternum and chest, is a major source of pain and weakness for millions of people every year. Prescription pain and inflammation medications have a mixed effect, with a lot of risks and side effects.
Fortunately, clinical results show how red light therapy is a safe and effective natural pain and strain reliever, especially in a post-surgery recovery environment, when faster healing means less additional health risk and loss of activity.
A double-blind randomized study followed 90 patients through sternum surgery to analyze their individual recovery and pain levels with and without phototherapy. The researchers determined the following patients who had breastbone surgery:
- Significantly decreased pain experienced in patients with red phototherapy compared to those without red phototherapy.
- Very few coughs after one month of red light treatments for nearly all patients.
- Less incisional bleeding in patients with red light therapy.
- Fewer ruptures of wounds when treated with red light.
- Less surplus blood and complications from the red phototherapy group. (1)
The early and very encouraging human clinical results of these types of studies build on many years of successful laboratory work with other mammals and test models. For example, a study with rodents demonstrated how red light therapy significantly reduced inflammation in the vital early stages of healing, and that wound closure was far stronger with red light. Recovery from plastic surgery with Red and Near-infrared Light.
Red light therapy is an effective natural relief of pain and inflammation in a variety of postoperative environments, including plastic surgery. Many of these procedures create plenty of inflammation that makes healing longer and more painful.
Researchers in 2015 performed a systematic review of 40 studies (28 animal and 12 human trials) on healing from plastic surgery, finding that red light treatments helped heal acute wounds and improved burn scars. (2)
Healing Raised Scars with Red and Near-infrared Light.
A peer-reviewed study examined hypertrophic (high) scarring in 15 children. The researchers treated one half of the children’s scars for 3 months and compared the difference to the untreated area.
They determined that scars treated with red light therapy exhibited significantly reduced scarification and appearance, and concluded that red light treatments are safe and effective for elevated scars. (3)
Photizo Skincare's LED light therapy utilizes the healing effect of red and infrared light at specific wavelengths and frequencies for faster healing by activating the body's own pain-relieving and attenuating medication.
LEDs or light emitting diodes are non-invasive, painless, produce a mild and soothing effect and do not require recovery time.
Photizo Skincare increases blood flow and ATP production in the area being treated to ensure that all waste products are quickly removed from the area and the supply of nutrients is restored.
USE OF PHOTIZO SKINCARE
Simply place the Photizo Skincare head (containing LEDs) on the area to be treated, press the ON button and wait until the timed treatment ends. Then move on to the next area that needs treatment. Repeat until you have finished treating all the desired areas. Depending on what you want to treat, it may be optimal with several doses at each point before moving to the next area.
If you suffer from skin irritation, acne or other type of wound on your face or body.
Photizo Skincare will be the right Photizo for you.
